Mitsubishi are going BIG on plug-in Hybrid vehicles in the run up to 2015, and are using the PX to give us a glance of tomorrow. 

Powered by two electric motors and a petrol engine, the system works somewhat like an old Diesel electric train! The electric motors drive the vehicle and the petrol engine kicks in to charge the batteries when they become drained......Brilliant. 

Sources say that this should give in the region of 170 MPG!! Bring it on Mitsubishi. and the range will be.... well, anything they like really, put a 5 gallon fuel tank in and that's going to give you an 850 mile range!
