Volkswagen 'E-Bug' - Electric Concept car
Shown at the 2012 Detroit Motor show, this electric cabriolet sports a 28.3 Kwh lithium-ion battery pack parked behind the seats, the all-electric E-Bugster has a range of 110 miles, and will accelerate from 0-60mph in 10.9sec. It also has a one-inch wider body than the familiar Beetle.
"This is a crazy car, it's fun, it's sporting and it's American looking," said VW Group design head Walter da Silva at the Detroit Motor Show.
Also on show was the Jetta hybrid model, which is unlikely to make it to Europe where it will have to compete with the diesel Jetta, who's performance & fuel economy is similar but with less cost and complication.
